Sharing photos of ancestors
« on: Friday 27 April 18 02:43 BST (UK) »
I have a few photos of deceased people who may be in other people's family trees. I think it would be nice to share with others. Is there a particular place to do this?

One of the boards on RootsChat is for "Unwanted Certificates & Artefacts"

That may be the best place.

Are the persons / places identified / identifiable?

Flickr.com is another good place for putting photographs that you want other people to see. You'll probably find some of the 70,000 of mine there.

Thanks to you both.
The photos I was thinking about are of people I have identified. Of course, I also have some mystery family photos and some group shots. There is one with "Our Win" written on the back - I feel like shouting "Win Who?!?"

None of them are unwanted but I thought it might be nice to provide digital copies of people in the backwaters of other members' family trees.

This is the kind of thing I meant.
Photo of Mary Ann Hardy born 1850 in Durham, Darwenthead who married Aichael Charlton at the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Crook, Durham, England. Mother of Hanah (1872), Thomas (1874), Isabella (1876), John F. (1878), Michael W. (1880), Pheobe (Phoebe) E. (1881), Isaac (1884), Emily (1885), Esther A. (1886) and Edith (1890)

I don't know why this has appeared rotated to landscape

Speedwell,

Have you seen the Dead Fred website? I think it has a wide reach.
