Looking for my uncle John Reed
« on: Sunday 29 April 18 13:59 BST (UK) »
Looking for uncle John Reed born in Liverpool about 1912 to 1918. I can`t find him found all the other siblings. He emigrated to Canada in 1929 28th August, heading for Montreal. He may have changed his name to Reid once in Canada. Wondered did he ever marry and have a family?

I cannot find any birth registration for a John Reed between 1910 and 1920 in Liverpool.

Who were his parents and what do you mean by you've found all the other siblings?  Who were they and where did you find them?

Where did you find the record of John emigrating to Canada on 28th August 1929?

If that's him, this is his birth

Does that fit with his siblings?

Thank you to everyone for your help. He was supposed to be my Dad`s elder brother. But that could be a mistake as my other uncle born in 1910 seems to be the eldest. There are 6 years that he could have been born. 1912,1913,1915,1916,1917 and 1918. My cousin said he went to Canada, Montreal Quebec on the 28th August 1929.
McCann was his mother`s maiden name, and not John and Sarah as parents....it was Thomas and Ellen. Seems to be a mystery. ??? ???

Please can you give us the names of the other children so that we have the best chance to help you?

Did any of the other family members emigrate?

What happened to Thomas & Ellen and why is 1918 the last possible date for a birth - did one of them die?
