Margaret Evans, Trawsgoed, Llannor
« on: Monday 30 April 18 09:22 BST (UK) »
I am following Margaret Evans, daughter of Evan Evnas, Trawsgoed, Llannor who married Griffith Roberts at Llannor  April 13, 1839. She was shown as Full age.

Going on from there I have found
RG4/3484  Baptism of Margaret, daughter of Evan and Elizabeth Evans, Trawscoed Llannor. 07/12/1812
and
RG/43485  Baptism of Margaret, daughter of Evan and Elizabeth Evans, Trawsgoed, Llannor 01/08/1816
I assumed that the first Margaret had died and the next daughter given the same name.  But I can find no record to prove this.
Then I noticed one at  Trawsgoed and the other at Trawscoed?
Any ideas  welcome. Thank you.

Could the baby be buried with one of the grandparents, possibly in one of the surrounding parishes? Also the register might just contain the christian name and no surname but have a note "daughter of Evan Evans".

Not knowing the parishes of Lleyn to find adjoining parishes and knowing nothing more than the name of the parents does not make the task easy.
Thanks for your suggestion, I will try to find more about Evan and Elizabeth. Maybe that will shed some light on the puzzle.
Thanks

I have been checking Yffor.com, since Keith has transcribed the majority of the parish records for the Lleyn but I have been unable to find Margaret, in fact I cannot find a burial for Evan Evans which from his will we know he died on 7th September 1850. https://viewer.library.wales/15130#?c=0&m=0&s=0&cv=0&xywh=-301%2C0%2C3642%2C3777
I note from the 1851 Census that Elizabeth was born in Penrhos and that might be the problem since there are few records for that parish

Just to potentially confuse matters, is this another variation of the house name?

29 Dec 1835

MARRIAGES
On the 22nd inst. at Llannor Church, by the Rev. Wm. Williams, Mr. Thomas Philip of Gwarnoe,  to Elizabeth, third daughter of Mr. Evan Evans, of Traws-y-coed, near Pwllheli.

Glyn,  you have had a more profitable hunt than I have had, I did not think of a will for finding when Evan died. Thank you for your help.
Mabel Bagshawe, that would fit in, there was a daughter Elizabeth, but I had her as the second daughter.  Please can you tell me where  you found that  that announcment.  Thank you for your help

Just to confuse matters further how about "Trwscoed".
There are a further three baptisms  at Penlan Chapel
Anne 27/6/1800
Owen 12/4/1802
Evan 31/5/1804
Also William 17/10/1809
Walter 4/12/1821
I wonder where Elizabeth is?
