Witness names weren't recorded until Hardwick's Marriage Act in 1754.
Ages, and names of fathers weren't added until 1837.
Likewise occupations weren't recorded until 1837.
Mother's names have never been recorded! ;D

Before the 1754 Act, all you can see is:
  • the date
  • names of bride and groom
  • current parish of bride and groom
  • whether by banns or licence

All the above refers to England & Wales.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Thank you- I looked at the original image on Family Search and that gave no clues!
So now I guess I am looking for a baptism for Sarah Woodnorth from 1710-1730 in the Betley area .
Onwards we go!

Many thanks for all your help
