Hallmark, the 1911 census would have been the simplest way to find out,thanks.Unfortunately Bridget,although still alive(thank God),did not complete those 2 columns.

Sinann,the family in your 1901 link is the correct family,note my grandfather Patrick aged 12.The family in your 1911 link is the family of Bridget the daughter,mentioned by me in my original post.Her married name was still Gallagher as she married a Daniel Gallagher(mistranscribed on 1901 census as David Gallagher).The correct family in 1911 is shown in the link in my reply to Hallmark.Hope this is clear(as mud!!)

Kiltaglassan,thanks for the links to the birth records of the Gallagher children.I also spent my summer holidays in Dooey,and you are right. The Silver strand, as we called it, is an impressive beach,used nowadays by surfers I believe.
