Stapleford Cemetery transcribed by U3A
« on: Wednesday 02 May 18 15:17 BST (UK) »
I am a member of my local U3A and we have been asked to circulate this to anybody who would have use and interest in it. Members of the Nottingham U3A have transcribed gravestones at the Stapleford Cemetery Nottingham.

Sorry Rattus - my fault for not being clear. What I meant was where are the rows on the map. Section L contains rows LA-LLL [according to the key on the map] - so where do I find rows LT and LS?

Ah, I see! Well, that document is still relevant. Keep going down past LT and you end up with LZ at the top of page 25, which then leads straight into LLA and continues to LLL on the final page (40).

So that Section L on the map is the one you need. The key - and indeed the whole lettering scheme - is somewhat illogical, but the document shows how it works.

In summary, if I'm interpreting correctly: Section L is comprised of two-letter row codes running from LA to LZ, followed 'sequentially' by three letter row codes from LLA to LLL.

Thank you for explaining Rattus - all seems so simple now you have done so. If only I had the patience to have got to page 40 I may have understood without bothering you. Thanks for YOUR patience with me......
