Now that I know Nellie was registered as Nellie Doris (thanks to information supplied by a “lister”. ) and that she was born June qtr of 1905 . The only one that tallies is a Nellie born in Truro This entry just says Nellie no Doris. So without buying the Truro birth certificate ,is there any other way I can find out whe Nellie Doris was born I have the exact birth date month and year. Regards Eirwen

The witnesses are I believe. a Thomas Honycombe and a xxx Holloway. , ( writing hard to read)

Can you please scan the section of the certificate which shows the witness names and then post it on this thread?

But in her marriage certificate she is entered as Nellie Doris.Somtime also known as Nora

Is it actually noted on the marriage certificate that she was also known as Nora?

What is the source of the 'listers' information  :-\

ADDED,  If it is the 1939 register birth dates can be unreliable.

Somtime also known as Nora No Idea why.

"Nora" is a short form of Eleanor. "Nellie" can also be short for Ellen or Eleanor. Perhaps Eleanor was her name?
