The above marriage was announced in the North Wales Gazette on 7th April 1814.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thanks very much everybody. I am in the desert of S California at the moment, so eight hours behind Pencarreg time.
My sister and I visited the area in 2011 and toured St Patrick's church (photo attached).
I shall investigate further to see if I can find the Happy Couple in 1841 and beyond. I now see that my cousin Robert Moseley Bryce Thomas (RMBT) refers to him as John Williams of Penbont with a date of death as 27th April 1852.
Mary William née Thomas died on 9th Sept. 1886 aged 95 years says RMBT.

John and Mary's second daughter Mary was said by RMBT to have been born on 8th May 1816 at somewhere in Llanwenog, Cardiganshire.
 ???
It looks like BLAENHIRBANT but I know we are butchering the spelling. Sorry.

Thanks Kay. So the spelling was good after all.
What great technology when I can see exactly where it is in detail on the map.
