What became of Ann Streater?
« on: Tuesday 08 May 18 15:21 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Ann was born Ann Towers in East Worldham in 1747. She married Samuel Streater in East Worldham in 1769. I don't know what became of her after that but she was having children in the 1770s.

I'd appreciate any help!

There is a burial record for Ann Streater 26th February 1782 in New Alresford Hampshire in the England Hampshire Bishop Transcripts 1680-1892 that could be a possible.

Yes, well that's where her husband hailed from. I have considered it.

That would make sense. Samuel Streater wouldn't be a very popular name. Samuel died in 1825 in Farringdon, I wonder if a Mary Streater died there too.

Can anyone check the original to see if it mentions wife of Samuel or anything?

Hampshire burials have it as 1781 with no extra information

There is quite a long article in Hampshire Chronicle 07 March 1774 which mentions Henry, Mary, Samuel, Martha, Hannah, Betty & Ann Streater of Alresford.  (You will be able to look when you get your F M P access  ;D  )

Also
Hampshire Chronicle 06 December 1773

It is possible that the Ann mentioned here is the one buried in 1781  :-\

Yes, I did think that without additional information it is impossible to say conclusively which one it is. Thanks.
