Hypothesis for Jesse Thorogood, died 1826, Shalford
« on: Tuesday 08 May 18 18:30 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Jesse died in Shalford in 1826 aged 75. He married there in 1777, to Sarah Trigg. However, no Jesse Thorogood exists anywhere with a birth date of around 1751. However, today, while browsing FreeREG, I came up with a theory. Jesse is often a nickname for James. There is a James Thorogood born 1753 in nearby Great Dunmow. Can anyone see what became of this James Thorogood?

Thanks,

Adam

He seems to have died young as they bapticed another James on 05.08.1751

Well that 1751 christening would be bang on the 75 years old given for his 1826 burial. Do you have anything on the Thorogoods of Stebbing? Or anything on this James if he isn't Jesse?
