The Wrights of Eyam Hall

I'm looking for a family tree of the Wrights of Eyam Hall

Basically I'm trying to find the family line of an Elizabeth Wright who married William Turner 9 Oct 1799 ... St Mary, Stafford. Her father was a John Wright (Banker) and mother was a Mary.

Now I know it appears that she was from Stafford but my initial early searches have come up blank. William Turners brother married well into the Hyde family so I'm thinking that so may have my William. I'm thinking that her father John Wright may have been one of the lesser sons of the Wrights of Eyam Hall.

If I could find a tree then I could disprove this thought and move the search back into Stafford.

I do have this Staffordshire Advertiser notice:
MARRIED.

If you google "John Wright banker" you get results for a John Wright of Nottinghamshire (1758-1840), who was a banker. Might be worth looking into, despite his wife named as Elizabeth. Same time frame, but different county.

Must be sheer coincidence having two John Wrights who were bankers, as the will of the one above makes no mention of a daughter marrying a Turner.
Yet, there are no wills of a John Wright in Staffordshire that fit. Surely a banker left a will.

You are starting to find the blanks that I was finding although I had not looked for Wills.
Lane End changed it's name to Longton 1846 if my memory is correct.
The area of Lane End I would have thought was no place for a banker to live at this time because of all the pollution from the potteries.
I guess I was looking for the easy way out by first checking where I believe there will be a family tree.

Have you looked for a baptism for Elizabeth?

I haven't really looked for this line for some 6 years now however I do show a baptism as 14th Feb 1776 at St, Mary's Church Stafford. It also showed the birth date as 3rd Feb 1776.

And that is all I have on her other than her death 1835 Longton Staffordshire (6 children)

I had planned to search for 2 sons next but this Derbyshire Forum is the wrong county to search in

The more I look into this the less likely that the Wrights of Eyam Hall are her bloodline.

I have found a probable marriage. 22 Apr 1771 marriage of John Wright of Parish of St Mary's Stafford to Mary Tomkinson parish of Eccleshall.

I also have 4 children:
Martin John Wright b. Mar 1772, m.Sarah Prinsep 5 Apr 1826 Seighford, Staffs, d. Apr 1854 Stafford.
Elizabeth Wright b. 3 Feb 1776 Stafford, d. 1835 Longton, m. William Turner.
Ann Wright b. 1877 Stafford.
Mary Wright b. 19 Sept 1799 Stafford.

In the book "The Turners of Lane End" the author states John Wright Snr was a Banker. I have never found this fact anywhere.

IGI simpply says he was of Stafford.

Elizabeth Turners 1835 Burial has her as age 59, abode Lane End

1799 Marriage has William of Stoke upon Trent and Elizabeth of Stafford

Witnesses, D Bayley and Richard Downward Bayley
Witness 2 signed as Richard Downward Bayley Junior.

Anne Wright (likely his sister) was a witness to the 1826 Marriage of Martin John Wright.

Martin John Wright died 1854. Cant find any children of his Marriage.

Martin/Ann Wright may have left Wills that mention their Sister Elizabeth.
