Dodson of Swavesey
« on: Wednesday 16 May 18 16:47 BST (UK) »
Hello,

Elizabeth Dodson was christened in Swavesey on New Year's Eve 1751. Her parents were Richard Dodson and Elizabeth Stewart, and they had married that same year. Can anyone find baptisms for either Richard or Elizabeth? I already have burials.

I'd appreciate any help!

Hi

Possible..

Fenton Drayton & Swavesey PR:

26 Dec 1702 Richard Dodson, s/o Thomas & Ann, Bap.

Nothing in that PR before the marriage for an Elizabeth Stewart.

Yes, I've seen that one before and he is quite old. Then again, if he married the same year my ancestor was born, there's a chance it was a 'shotgun marriage', so things like typical age at marriage can be disregarded. Thanks!

When did he die?
There's a burial at Swavesey of a Richard Dodson, 17 March 1786
BT seems to say that he was a Butcher

FreeReg has a burial there, 29 August 1721, of Richard Dodson, son of Thomas (notes Thomas Dodson sen)

Yes, I have the 1786 burial noted down too. What's the relation to the 1721 burial?

What's the relation to the 1721 burial?
The 1702 baptism?
A Thomas Dodson senior buried in 1727.
Perhaps the Thomas who had Richard in Caxton was junior!
