FEATHERSTONE OF WILSTHORPE
« on: Thursday 17 May 18 07:02 BST (UK) »
Looking for parents of a Sarah Featherstone born c 1728.  Sarah was married in 1754 to John Buswell.  She was from Wilsthorpe.  A witness to this marriage was James Ullett who had married a Jane Featherstone in 1743. I therefore believe Jane to be a sister of Sarah.  Another witness was a Curtis Featherstone.  A Curtis Featherstone (widowed) married a Ann Bacon in 1765.  So Curtis could be a brother or maybe Rebeccas father.  There is also a Thomas Featherstone marrying Mary Trimnell in 1758.  Thomas & Mary Had a son named Curtis. So it seems Thomas would be a brother of Rebecca.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Hi
We are looking for Rebecca but I can't see her.
i'd guess parents are
William Featherston buried 17.11.1766 Greatford and
Jane buried 3.7.1769.
The other burials in the parish are Thomas and his wife Mary 5.9.1784 Wilsthorpe and 29.7.1782
And Sarah d of Ann 26.8.1792

If you don't have a baptism for her how certain are you that she was from Wilsthorpe? Just because it might say "of this parish" in a marriage entry it doesn't mean the person was born there. They had lived there long enough to fulfill the requirements to marry in the church.

I can find two baptisms, both about 3 miles away from Wilsthorpe

Rebecca Featherston baptised 10 October 1731 West Deeping, parents John and Elizabeth

Rebecca Featherston baptised 25 July 1734 Market Deeping father Stephen.

Hi ciderdrinker.

The William & Jane died 1766 & 1769 were children of Thomas & Mary who married 1758.
I am thinking that Thomas may be a brother to my Rebecca

Thanks anyway

Hi emeltom

Thanks for your reply.  I had found those 2 entries and originally thought one to be my Rebecca, however the more i find i now doubt that either is mine.  I guess the search goes on.  Thanks anyway
