Hi Everyone - I'm not having much luck with tracing what happened to Clarice Mabel HANN or her sister Marie Hilda HANN.
They were both born in Kent but the last place I have traced both of them to is London, hence I am posting this query in the London section!
Here is what I know about each of them:
Parents: George Hann & Jane Clarice Spratt
Brother: Robert George Halsey Hann 1887-1975
Clarice Mabel Hann
Born Jan 1875 Canterbury, Kent
Baptised Jan 1875 Canterbury, Kent
1881 Census, age 6, 14 Whitstable Rd, Canterbury
1891 Census, age 16, 31 Marylebone High St, London
1901 Census, age 26, 31 Moore Buildings, St George Hanover Sq, London - Bootmaker's Assistant
Marie Hilda Hann
Born Feb 1879 Canterbury, Kent
Baptised Feb 1879 Canterbury, Kent
1881 Census, age 2, 14 Whitstable Rd, Canterbury
1891 Census, age 12, 31 Marylebone High St, London
1901 Census, age 22, 2 Airlie Gardens, Kensington, London - Domestic Nurse
And then the trail for both of them goes cold!
I cannot locate a marriage for either.
I cannot locate a death for either.
I cannot locate either of them in the 1911 Census.
I cannot locate any passenger lists showing they might have emigrated.
Can anyone help?
(Just so you know, Clarice Mabel Hann DID NOT marry a man called Melville Ward Florance - Ancestry Hints are very keen on pushing this link, but he did in fact marry a lady called Mabel Clarice Dening who was born in 1885).
Many thanks, Nina
