archway record help please

Hi
I have a query regarding a family member who we believe went away to WW2 (possibly Italy but not sure) however I cannot find any record of him in Archway.  I believe there is a photo of him in uniform wearing a beret but do not know any further information regarding this period of his life.
Albert John Cropper (aka Bert) b: 1916  d:1997
This is the only information we do not have on this relative - all other details have been found

Only WW1 files are on Archway at present.
You could look here

WW2 files can be obtained from the Nz Defence Force,you can apply for one free each year,I will post the link shortly

I found two records on Archway for you, but both are only Probates.

However, you could try NZ Defence Force in Trentham.

(You will also see that you don't actually have to pay if you're only getting 1 record per annum).

Worth your checking out the Trentham Archives site

He should be hiding somewhere in Archway, or at Trentham Camp!

many thanks for the replies.  We will look to the NZDF for the record, I hadn't thought about the fact that only WWI records are up.  Yes we have found the ballot information but are very curious about where he went during the war. The family has a very thorough knowledge of the unfortunate Koiterangi tragic shootings.
