« on: Sunday 20 May 18 12:49 BST (UK) »
Help needed to find a marriage record for a Michael Scanlon and Mary Willis, I have a baptism record which might be my 3x great grandmother, Elizabeth Scanlon born 1838 in parish of Abbeyliex. I can find no other baptisms for this couple or their marriage record.

Abbeyleix is in Co Laois.   This query is posted on Co Kilkenny board.  Is there a reason for that?

The catholic baptism on Nat library of Ireland is for 1838 for Elizabeth Scanlon, Kilkenny, Laois (Queens), parish Abbeyleix & Ballyroan, so I  thought it would be Kilkenny. sorry, I am not familiar with Irish counties. Just searching for Elizabeth's parents marriage or any other Scanlon siblings born in the same parish.

The Parish is in 2 counties as shown on Map  https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0685 which is not unusual

Brides usually marry in their parish, so maybe a neighbouring one.

Started looking and found that 1838 baptism transcribed on roots ireland as Bridegth Scanlan parents Michael Scanlan and Mary Wallis not Willis. Have you looked at the original on the parish register - It is very unclear. However didn't find marriage for Michael and Mary Wallis or willis. Not much help I'm afraid.
