My great Uncle's wife died 12 June 1939, now the 1939 register is dated 29 Sep 1939, I am just wondering how she could be on the register3 months after she died, anyone have any ideas.

Obviously shouldn't have been included!
Once you've ruled out that it's the same person and that you have her date of death correct, it must just have been a mistake by the person who completed the form. I wonder if she was posthumously issued an identity card and ration book?

It might be he "wasn't ready to let go" yet - or even that he did it to get an extra ration book.  Probably the former and wanted to enter her as "not forgotten" and to see her name written down one more time.

Are they the only two in the house? Are there any added notes that would show it is a mistake?
