Okey, I think I've found Jane Jones in the 1871 Census living in Sion Cottages, Froncysyllte, apparently alone, listed as married, aged 71 (a couple of years out), Boatman's Wife, born Llangollen.  So if this is her, John Jones in Whitchurch is the correct 1871 entry and he was not, as claimed, widowed. It's a little unclear though, no mention of Trevor-Isa as Jane's birthplace (though Llangollen is a generalisation of the area), and stating she's 71 when she must have been 69 or 70 is odd.
