I came across that one a few days ago. Wrong birth year and country, wrong mothers country, wrong occupation.

What information were you hoping that the death certificate would provide?

This looks like it might be the person you were looking for, although it's a shame that it doesn't mention what town he was born in (in Switzerland) and it doesn't show the name of the informant (person who reported the death, which is sometimes a spouse).  Also odd that apparently the newspaper doesn't have this obit, but I guess that this sometimes happens.

What my expectation on the death certificate was to get the date of death, location possibly information that would tie back into other family members like perhaps a family member signing the death certificate to verify his identity. I am very familiar with this death certificate which I have put in my Ancestry.com Shoe box. Based upon whats documented, this would not be Albert Ilbery, with that said... I think there must be some type of relationship between William Ilbery and Albert Ilbery but have not truly invested time to investigate this route. Perhaps going through William I might find something about Albert.

https://sites.google.com/site/stlouisartistsfiles/home

listed here with perhaps some news clipping etc in the St. Louis Library -- email address to request information

Thank you Genealiza!.. I have not come across this information before. I will following up.

Genealiza,

Sent my request in for assistance on Albert Ilbery based on the information you provided. Unfortunately they were not able to give much information with exception of what the city directories provided... Simply that he was a photographer. They also looked in St. Louis news papers of the time and there were no advertisements listed. I get the feeling Albert didn't have the money or maybe the business sense to to advertise his services. Ugh!...

Just wanted to let you know how it turned out... Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks for the update and I'm sorry that lead didn't pan out.  Will keep my eyes open for any Ilbery's I might run across.

Have you tried requesting a death search from the above?  It looks like they've completed the entry for Clinton Co. deaths 1877 - 1915.

I apologize for my late reply, I guess I missed my email notification. I have made two attempts by writing. The 2nd I sent by certified mail last year but no response. Its been a little frustrating.

I contacted the Library and they referred me back to IRAD. Which where I started originally. I think Im going to try to find a local genealogist in Southern Illinois to see if they could assist with IRAD... Not sure what else to do short of going myself.
