Recent Immigration to Canada Search

Hello all,

On looking up the newspaper notice for the death of my great-grandfather, I saw that one of my grandfathers brothers moved to Canada. I was wondering if there would be any way that I could track them or is there any resources available to do that?

My grandfather was born in 1923 and is deceased and his brother John Chisim (who emigrated) was born in 1925 and is likely deceased now. It lists his wife Theresa and his grandson on the notice. They were resident in Canada in 1975 as of the death notice.

I have no idea when or where they moved to in Canada. Is there too many unknowns to make this a feasible search? I am interested as the grandson is likely still alive.

Any help appreciated.

Looking at Outbound (from UK) passenger lists there is a John Chism, welder, DOB 30/5/1925, of 9 Bromlay St. Belfast, sailing for Canada on 5th April 1957 aboard the Empress of Britain.
Could this be him?

EDIT: I had to get an ancestry subscription but I see him and Theresa in Toronto in the 60s! Thanks again pjm99.

John Chisim obituary in the Toronto Star 5 June 1998 page B6.

He died June 4 1998 in his 74th year. Husband of Theresa.  Father of J and his wife H, L and her husband D Garnet.  Grandfather of 4 named children.  Prospect Cemetery.

Theresa's obituary is in the Toronto Star on 20 Sept 2001, page B6. 

Theresa Elizabeth Chisim died on 18 Sept 2001, aged 73.  Predeceased by husband John.  Mother of L and her husband D Garnet, J and his wife H.  5 grandchildren named.   Funeral mass at St. Luke's Roman Catholic Church in Thornhill.
