Scots guards in Ireland 1918

My Grandfather was in the Kings RR 1WW wounded in the trenches 1917 and then transferred to the Scotts guards and sent to Ireland 17/18. Any advice on researching this bit of history especially the Scotts guards.

If you want a very brief introduction look up Irish War of Independence and/or Irish Revolutionary Period in Wikipedia.
Googling those terms will lead to more sources but beware bias of writers/contributors.

You could post a specific enquiry on the military history board for information about your GF's service in the Scots Guards in Ireland.

Looking at Regimental History Scots Guards didn't serve in Ireland in that period have you got his name and number? It's possible he went to Ireland after the Great War and served with another unit a lot of men did.
Guards records survived the Blitz and are available for £30
