Find Mary Collins
« on: Monday 04 June 18 18:29 BST (UK) »
Eight-year-old Mary Ann Collins appears in 1891 Everton, Liverpool census with parents Hugh and Isabella Collins and siblings Tom, Charlotte, and John. Nowhere to be found in 1901 census.  Family story says she went to teacher’s college in Ireland/Scotland. US Immigration records (1907) say she had been a dairy maid. She was baptized at All Souls RC Church, 1882. Are there records - church or otherwise - to document where she went, until returning to Liverpool to raise siblings after mom’s death in 1904? Journals, Everton family histories, diaries, etc.? Any suggestions are appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat.

Sorry this is a negative reply, but she doesn't appear to be on the 1901 Scottish or Irish census records.
There won't be any passenger lists from England to Ireland either as it was part of the UK.

You would have to be VERY lucky to find her in church records as she would only be a member of the congregation. I suppose you might try on line newspapers just in case - either at the British Newspaper Archive - or on Find My Past if you have a subscription.

Good Luck!
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.
