I use Find my Past -- every single day at the moment..

They throw the 'Dashboard' at me .... :( :(

I ignore it and go to the top of the page for the old search..

that suits me ... I then carry on..

Would be lost without them.

and did find the Fridays page...

But I mainly use it for Parish records and newspapers.

And after all this time, I've still not had the dashboard or any other of the  problems mentioned

AND

I've been really hitting it hard and think I've found my lost ancestor (Great Grandfather Frederick!). Bless them. Money well spent at last.

Well as yet no response from FindMyPast, not even to acknowledge my email (via contact us) and say it would be looked into.  Pretty poor customer service too.

The customer service team at FindMyPast claim they've been looking into this for months.  I first reported this issue to them in April.

I tried everything they suggested to clear the cache,  then a password reset, but none of that worked.

I could still signin on the laptop, but I was wanting to use my ipad.

April would be about the time I first encountered the problem.
Had same issue this morning, then was able to sign in having done a search.
Wanted to turn off 'auto-renew' and even that took several attempts with error pages appearing.

Hi Gadget and All

I'm not getting the FindMyPast dashboard either and suspect possibly a pc setting is blocking it for some.

Good for you on your find!!

I'm hoping a find last week in the Hull Muster Rolls (which confirmed a suspicion discovered in newspapers), will hopefully lead to a further find in the Charity's withheld records, as to whether a known ancestor (documented) will be the Son (or relative) of a Master Mariner of the same surname residing in the same town as my known ancestor.

The records in Hull, confirmed the Master Mariner paid Pension contributions and his Birthplace and Abode was the same as that in the Dade's Register, when the Master Mariner's Granddaughter (via his Daughter) was born/baptised.

My line might be via a possible Son (or Male relation) of the Master Mariner.

Mark

Is it just me or can you only buy Findmypast packages for 3 or 12 months now?

Just had a look and it says I can subscribe a month at a time if I wish (or 12 months), or buy credits. Didn't see 3 months anywhere
James Stott c1775-1850. James was born in Yorkshire but where? He was a stonemason and married Elizabeth Archer (nee Nicholson) in 1794 at Ripon. They lived thereafter in Masham. If anyone has any suggestions or leads as to his birthplace I would be interested to know. I have searched for it for years without success. Thank you.

I still can't access it from the iPad, but it worked very well until about Easter.  From my perspective that gave FindMyPast a competitive advantage over Ancestry which was clunky on the iPad.

I don't understand why their techie people don't ensure the site is working well on all platforms before making changes.  I'm in no hurry to renew my sub until this is sorted.
