1871 Marriage
« on: Friday 08 June 18 18:54 BST (UK) »
I have Thomas Henry Coleman living in Wrexham in the 1871 census, he is with his wife Susanna.
I can only find the marriage of T H C to Susanna Emery in Sept qtr 1871. Stoke on Trent
I know it is the right one as her maiden name matches the children's birth registration.
Can anyone find the full details of this marriage.
Census information is Crown Copyright (see: www.nationalarchives.gov.uk)

It is possible that the couple may have married in a Registry Office in these circumstances -- hence if that is the case details are unlikely to be on line. (No doubt someone will now prove me wrong and find it!!)
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Sorry -- I thought Wilcoxon meant -- could we find a filmed record of the church marriage with all the details. Or a full transcription to save sending for the marriage cert. Maybe I have misunderstood. (That's not unknown!)

In 1871 census they should yet to be even wed. https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:V5P5-568

why pick a late 1871 marriage?

Or it seems. it's simply a sloppy posting. its 1870, not 1871.

COLEMAN   Thomas Henry   EMERY   Susanna   Civil Marriage (Stoke)   Stoke-On-Trent   SRO/12/003.

So it seems it is a Registry Office or Registrar attended marriage then -- means you will have to order the certificate I'm afraid.
