Your opinion please

William Edward FISHER was one child of two of William Samuel FISHER & Ann Mary GIBSON. William E's sibling was Mary Audrey FISHER.

The piece on which i am seeking an opinion is if this is the person who married Kate E STENTON IN 1921.  The issue is that if this is the correct William E he would have been 17 at the time of marriage which is rather unusual.

The facts:
William Edward FISHER was born 16 Sep 1904 Warren, Yorkshire.  Evidence that contributes is the 1939 register, 1911 census; Baptism copy
1939 Register has William Edward as the right birth date, married and a Tailors Cutter
Father's administration notes William Edward was a Tailors Cutter
Sisters administration notes William Edward was a Tailors Cutter

So in looking for a FREEbdm marriage in Nottinghamshire before 1939 the only such marriage was for William E FISHER Sep 1921 reg Newark to STENTON.

in the 1939 register William E is living alone.  I am unable to locate a Kate STENTON in the 1939 register.

This is the challenge as if this is the William E I am researching then he would have been only 17.

Thoughts??

Well Kay & medpat collectively you have solved a part of the conundrum - do you agree William E must have be 17 years of age at marriage??

To me it looks your William (born 1904) must have married a different person as Kate's husband in 1939 was 10 years older  :-[

I agree with Kay, the William I found was 20/21 when the other William E arrived in the world in 1904, my William E was much older than his wife.
