Richard is listed in the 1861 census as born in 1841 in Crowle. He is also listed as nephew of John Foster also born in Crowle in 1821.

I cannot find the connection....help

Richards birth registration gives his mothers maiden surname as Foster  ;)

John Foster born in Crowle on 29th May 1820 and baptised on 7th June, son of Robert and Jane.

Ann born 31st 29th April 1806 and baptised on 5th May in Selby Abbey, Yorks, daughter of Robert Foster and Jane Briggs.

Robert Foster married Jane Briggs in Selby, St Mary, on 16th May 1805.
