Correction on a death cert

The civil death record for John Evans in 1892 was corrected by the registrar

Informant was given as Peter Evans son - this was corrected to nephew and the number 21 inserted beside the word nephew:

Any suggestions what the number 21 could mean??

Possibly the no. for the correction in the Book/Register?
