A result from freeBMD!

Marriages Jun 1916
Critchley    Reginald G    Leonard    Thornbury

So Mary Leonard was living with her sister (or another family member, but sister is most likely I guess, unless it is her mother who remarried).

Thanks once again.

Now I need to find a Vera and Mary Leonard on a census and I might find out more.

I've found the family in the census, with Vera being an older sister. Mary was born 1900/01.  She later married Thayer and had two children.

Result!

Dave - did you come across any other reports on that court case?  I wonder if the family were evicted if the rent was in arrears?

I found the Critchleys on the 1939 register living at a farm in the Chipping Norton area, Oxfordshire, with Reginald still down as a farmer.

I also found Mary Thayer nee Leonard, with Sidney Thayer, farmer, in the 1939 register at Moor Farm, Puxton, Somerset.

Ann thanks for that tip - if it is a Facebook group I won't be able to access it though as I have the wrong type of account (sigh - long story).  Will look now.
