Pte H Williams
« on: Wednesday 20 June 18 09:04 BST (UK) »
Browsing through British newspapers on line I found a brief hint to "Pte H. Williams, Brithdir, died in a German hospital" Western Mail 19 Jan 1915.

Sadly NLW Welsh Newspapers on line go no further than 1910.  Can someone please do a look-up and copy the piece regarding Pte Williams.

Kind regards, Roy

There is no more info in the newspaper but there is a photo of him - Part of a series of photos of men who  died or were wounded in the war

There is a later report which identifies him as H Williams of Tennyson Terrace Brithdir who had served in the South African War and who had survived the Senghenydd colliery explosion in 1913 (he wasn't at work that day).  The hospital is identified as Ixelles Hospital in Brussels (Edith Cavell had her nursing school in Ixelles, not sure whether it is that hospital).

If we could find his regiment we may find a POW record for him, too many Williams just to scroll through them all!
