Thank you niccorr.  That is a couple that I have not heard of before, as is Ballymurphy. I have seen Caulfield spelled with the L and without the L and with two Fs or one F.
I wonder where there is a Catholic parish that would have records before 1822 . In other words I am wondering if James Caulfield could have baptized his children in a nearby to Donoghenry  Catholic Parish before 1822.  Or is it just that he would have used Donoghenry but it is just not recorded?

Sinann posted the Link https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0187  so you can check surrounding Parishes via the map there...

Most parish records only start in the early 1820s as the laws eased leading up to Catholic Emancipation

Still thinking about James Caulfield born 1788 and his family. Just because his sister Mary Duffin nee Caulfield became Catholic doesn't mean James was Catholic. I will still try to find some  baptisms for James' children.

I'm new to this Caulfield thread.  I'm searching for the parents of Henry Caulfield born 1767 in Lisburn, Castle DAwson, Antrim.  Is said to have married 1817 in Castle Dawson to Mary Castles born 1775 in Drumbeg, Co. Down, Ireland.  The couple departed Belfast 1820 or 1821 for America.

Could this Henry's mother's maiden name be Henry.  The Henry family was from Loughgiel, Antrim.

Thank You
Carson

Can you provide a source for this comment, please?

There's something odd here. Lisburn is a city in Co Antrim. Might you be referring to the townland of Leitrim in Castledawson E.D., Co. Londonderry?

...and it's a long way for Mary to come to be married in Castledawson in 1817.
