My 2x great grandmother was called Margaret Leslie, b.1838 in Co.Leitrim and married Robert Wright in 1855. On the marriage register, her father was John Leslie who was born in 1806 and died in Co.Longford in Clongesh parish in 1885. It was thought that the mother's name was Margaret Cole but I'm questioning this as there is no sign of mother name being recorded anywhere. Even had a look at the Censuses but I know that 1841-1891 censuses in Ireland is notoriously difficult to come by. I even thought that perhaps John had married someone who was RC and that's probably why they never got married at the time or had any records regarding their connections?

The one I found was from Co. Longford where John was 79 and his address was listed as Bohy in Cloone, which is the same one that was given by Margaret on the register for her marriage to Robert. But then it's not 100% certain.

I've attached a copy of the said marriage record for both margaret and Robert. copyright image removed

This is the death I previously posted

John Leslie, Beihy, Cloone civil parish

Bohy seems to be a mistranscription

Thank you.
I have seen that myself in the indexes. I mean the details from the certificate which makes you think that John Leslie, father of Margaret is the one who married in 1866.
