freeBMD, freeREG and freeCEN are all great free resources especially as coverage has increased.  I'm surprised at the recent records included on freeREG though.

Thanks bearkat. freeBMD I use endlessly but I don't think I have ever heard of the other two. Must look up freeCEN as well. Medway Cityark I have attempted to use but never found a single record there. I haven't been there for ages so must have another look. I found it difficult to navigate and fully accept that is me as the user not the site as so many people recommend it

Medway Cityark has changed recently.  It's still not very easy to navigate though but it is easier once you find the correct record set.  It's a fantastic resource for people researching in Medway.

Thanks bearkat I will have to give it another go. BTW I have been having a wonderful time with freeREG. In fact, I have taken my tree further than I thought it all possible. Really appreciate the tip
