-Robert Jones 1858-1930 and Elizabeth his wife born 1864 - 1930's(?)

Hello, is anyone able to help me? These are my great grand parents, they lived in Abergele and he was a blacksmith living in "Bod Heulog". I want to try and find out a little more more about Elizabeth, BUT all I know is that according to the 1891 census she was born in Fronwynwent, Cardigan and the 1901 and 1911 census both say born in Bronant Cardiganshire, the 1911 also says they have been married for  years  so married around 1885?
 The problem is that I don't know her maiden name and of course these are very common names around these parts.  I don't know how to progress.  Does anyone have any advice as to the best course of action? I'm not even sure when she died but it was after her husband and I know she came to the Caernarfon area with her daughter Hannah to live with her daughter Sophia Parry before her died. Have you identified possible births for Hannah or Sophia?

Yes , Sophia was born in 1887 and died in 1968, Hannah was born in 1895 but I don't have date of death.

If you go to the GRO online index, it will give you the maiden name of the mother.
I have checked and the most likely name is Williams, this being the maiden name for Sophia and Hannah, under St Asaph which is the registration district for Abergele, and is also the same name for for Robert W(illiam)who appears on the 1891 census born 1896 Bettsw-y-coed which lies in the Conway district.

in that year,the 1891 census for your family has a family of Williams a few doors away

ok - so just to clarify, the birth registers of the children show what the mothers maiden name was? I never realised that.

If you use the GRO site it does,but you  still have to cross reference them
as you say Jones is rather a common name in Wales

I'm not having much luck with the GRO site-  I know that according to the census Sophia (1887)and Hannah (1895) ,their siblings Kate ( 1891) and Ellis (1888) were born in Abergele, and yet when I go on the gro site- I cant seem to find them - how do I know which District office to enter for the register of births? I had thought St Asaph but don't seem t be having any luck getting any results.
 Also the eldest son Robert William Jones was born in 1886 in Betws Y Coed and on Ancestry it came up with a birth record for Conway 11b 515- I have put all that information in the GRO and it still says no records ?
What am I doing wrong? Any ideas
