Meaning of John over Lennox in will of Henry Lennox who died 1881
« on: Tuesday 03 July 18 20:49 BST (UK) »
On Proni, there is a will for Henry Lennox who died in 1881. In the will, he mentioned his late brother Joseph who had died in Grace Hill, and  had a son John over Lennox. What does that mean- John over Lennox?

Do you have a copy of the will?
It would be a good idea to post that section you are interested in on the Handwriting Deciphering board here on Rootschat.
It's always better to see the original.  :)

The Will of Henry Lennox late of Aughrim County Londonderry Farmer deceased who died 28 April 1881 at same place was proved at Londonderry by William George Lennox of Aughrim aforesaid Farmer one of the Executors.

Reading the Will Book it looks like the word 'over' might have been an instruction in the original Will and nothing to do with nephew John's name (remember that what survives is a copy of the original Will).

Perhaps the details of this John Lennox are referred to over the page!

I don't think so Skoosh.
The will is just one page. That's all you get on the Proni site.
No facility to look at the next page - I think if there had been some continuation of it on another page, they would have let you see the image.

I agree.... perhaps the original Will had John written in it and his surname was written under the word John!
