Does anyone know what Y H would mean. I have found the couple and he was a grocer.

One site I found suggested it as the Welsh equivalent of JP (Justice of the Peace, ie Magistrate). See

https://mymemory.translated.net/en/Welsh/English/yh

However, I'm not a Welsh speaker, so you'd do better to wait for one to come along to confirm this or otherwise. But if he was a JP/YH, he'd probably be the sort of chap to get a newspaper write-up when he died, as well as being mentioned when he was dealing with cases.

He was  an Alderman in 1910,  but I can`t find anything later than that about him.

I've been looking at Welsh Newspapers Online (http://newspapers.library.wales/home) - they only go as far as 1919, but there are dozens of references to Thomas Jones of Wrexham, including some as a magistrate and some as mayor. Of course with a name like that, some will be false positives, but you'll be better placed than me to work that out.

Some of the articles I found were as follows:

http://newspapers.library.wales/view/3173305/3173308/5/ (22 Mar 1895 - col.5, about 18 lines down)

http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4594089/4594094/47/ (26 Oct 1895 - col.3 The Municipal Elections)

http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4594343/4594348/53/ (12 May 1900 - col.6 The Free Church Council)

http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4594469/4594474/44/ (18 Aug 1900 - col.4 Proposed Grocer's Association)

http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4246313/4246321/25/ (19 Feb 1909 - col.4 Proposed New Theatre at Wrexham)

http://newspapers.library.wales/view/4241817/4241823/44/ (23 Nov 1917 - col.3 The Wrexham Borough Police Court)

Plenty more where they came from! And the last two confirm that there was a magistrate of that name.
