Millward Family West Yorkshire
« on: Thursday 19 July 18 14:00 BST (UK) »
I'm looking at the 1939 Register in the Morley area of west yorkshire, My Millward family are living in the Dyson household,(my grandmothers family) also a Walter Redfern Millwad b. 16/9/1926 is registered at the address, but I know he's not a brother of my grandmother, I can't find he's parents in the area, could he be a cousin of my grandmother?

This entry is a bit of a mess isn't it but looking at the original the entry you mention has been amended at some point so that the name does not include the Milward surname.

A birth for a child with the name W R was registered in Rotherham in 1926, not with the mmn of Milward so this might be an evacuee possibly.

Can't put any more detail in case this person is still alive although as the name is not redacted on the 1939 register I would assume that he has died.

Added: there is a death for a Walter Redfern registered Q1 2003 in Hull, Yorkshire with a birth year of 1926 although day and date do not correspond to the 1939 entry (although that is not particularly unusual)

Hi

I have found several mistakes n the 1939 register but just had a quick look and it looks like he is Walter Redfern.
A Walter Redfern is born in Rotherham area and registered 4th quarter 1926 mothers maiden name Dransfield.

It seems like the 1939 is wrong somewhere as my grandmother Jessie Millward b. 4/10/1921, doesn't seem to be registered with her mother at said address, she's not registered in the Morley area as far as I can see

If your grandmother is still alive, or has died only recently, then perhaps she is one of the two three redacted entries within the household.  :-\
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

No she died in 1999, her sister Margaret died in 2005 and I can see she's registered,
