This isn't a political thing, just another fact to add into your tree!

Mmmm, not so sure about that jaybelnz. You have to provide your e-mail address to obtain your "baby number".

See the last sentence on the link:

"The Labour Party and its elected representatives may contact you about issues we think you may be interested in or with campaign updates".

Looks like a gimmick for the Labour party to get more people on their books.
I really don't see how they can be accurate with numbers

Cheers Janette

I originally found it some years ago, but lost the info in a computer fry!  So, I tried again recently.

They only email I had was from the current Minister of Health, Andrew Kirton, as follows:-

"Hi Jean,
Thanks for celebrating New Zealand’s health system with us — I hope you enjoyed finding out your baby number!

Now that you’ve got your own baby number, do you know someone else who might want to find theirs out too?

Will you share our tool with your friends and family members so they can find out their own baby numbers?

Thanks Jean! Let’s spread the word about all the good our health system has done since it was introduced.

Best wishes,

Andrew Kirton
Labour’s General Secretary and the 2,271,078th baby born under the public health system "

It's not bothering me in the slightest! If receive any more I'll just delete them! All I've shared is the website!  (I'm not a Labour Party fan either  ;D ;D)  They'll never get me on their books!  My Dad was a very staunch Labour voter and A Union Rep for the Driver's Union.  When I was about to make my first vote when I was 21, I got the big lecture from him about how to fill in my voting form, and it was Labour all the way!  Yeah Dad!  When I came out of the booth, my mum grinned at me, (she knew how I had voted, and it sure as heck wasn't Labour!!  ;D ;D
