Apologies. I shall find those rules and read them all and obey. Hadn't seen them yet.

Still waiting for my relatives to reply.

Thanks KGarrad. You're exactly right. The marriage was on the 16th of November 1944. Much appreciated. Just received the certificate from my relatives.

Always try to use documentary evidence, rather than a gut feel ;)

I use FreeBMD.org.uk for most births, marriages and deaths.
And there was no other marriage that fitted!

In 1881, Jane Ellen Pritchard and William John Pritchard ( Rowland's siblings in 1891) living with parents, John  and Eliza, in 49 Cilofdau Street, Llanllechid.

John Pritchard quarryman.

Possible death June quarter 1884, Bangor. John Pritchard, age 28

Very possibly his death - there's a newspaper item about a benefit concert on 1 May 1884 for John Pritchard of Cilfodau St who has been ill for some months.

Mabel Bagshawe, thank you ever so much for those amazing finds. Previous to Rootschat I didn't know I had a Great Granduncle John Pritchard, let alone that he died at 28, a year younger then I am now.

It's very touching to hear they had a benefit concert in his illness. A harder life it was back then.

It's very kind of you to help. Thank you.

Do you have a link for that newspaper article?
