Thomas Lacey: Glossop, Derbyshire
« on: Monday 23 July 18 14:25 BST (UK) »
Hello,
I'm trying to find the birth record for a Thomas Lacey, supposedly born in Glossop, Derbyshire. I think he would have been born between 1880-1900. He emigrated to Canada in the early 1900s.

Do records for Glossop fall under a particular records office? Someone suggested Manchester?

Any help is appreciated!
Nick

Hi Nick,

Welcome to RootsChat  :)

What records show that he was born in Glossop?

Did Thomas emigrate with any family members and what year did he emigrate to Canada?

JJ

Hi JJ!

Thanks for the quick reply.

Another researcher reported he was born in Glossop. I found a possibility on FreeBMD - born 1895 and I have not found an immigration record in Ancestry!

I think he would have been born between 1880-1900.

Why don't you tell us about what Thomas did after he went to Canada.  Can you not find him in census records to get a more accurate age?  Did he marry?

Debra  :)
