I'm trying to locate Alfred Ernest bullock b1887 in burton upon trent in the ww1 records as I gather he was gassed & transferred to hospital in this country but I'm not sure how true this was ,
but I cannot find any record of him in ww1 he may have been in the Staffordshire regiment or the sherwood foresters but I'm not certain. Alfred d 1944 in burton upon trent .
Hope anyone can help

Kind regards

Do you have a dob , parents names and wife for your Alfred Ernest Bullock?

The reason I ask there's this entry for an Alfred Ernest Bullock born in Burton but the year is 1894
and he's on UK, Royal Navy Registers of Seamen's Services, 1848-1939

Hiya

I looked at that and dismissed it as wrong birthdate (his father was Alfred Joseph bullock) but Alfred  was married to Florence moss but she disappeared in 1912 they lived in Loughborough he died in burton upon trent in 1944

Kind regards
Jill 😀

Are you aware that a large proportion of WW1 service records were destroyed in WW2.  It is possible that his were amongst them.

There's an Alfred Bullock on the SWB list discharged (sickness) 1918 aged 30.
May not be him of course as technically gassing was a wound but may have aggravated a previous condition.
His no. is 71106 att. 17/7/16. Notts & Derbys (Sherwood Foresters).
Edit:
His first Regt. was N.Staffs. (no. 6492) . Transferred to the 16/SF.
