I think the National Library of Ireland have trade directories.

There are also some on the Find My Past website (if you subscribe). There are some Storey's listed in Monasterevin -- but not Joseph as far as I can see.

(On a personal note my father in law and his ancestors came from Monasterevin -- in fact his brother lived there all of his life and only died in that town in recent years.)
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Not sure if Joseph Storey is the same man as Joseph Robert but a Joseph died 1891 Postmaster and Registrar

His daughter in law appears to have run the Post Office (Census)after him, and you can see the Post Office on the old maps
http://maps.osi.ie/publicviewer/#V2,662858,710119,11,9
but it's at the other end of Dublin Street on the older map

Griffith's Valuation doesn't list Dublin Street on it's own but there is a Joseph Storey listed.

In 1924 George applied to have the license changed to full opening hours now the post office was gone, they were only licensed to open the same hours as the post office but the judge was having none of it. ;D

A Bernard Storey had some sort of business in Monasterevin in 1934, there was an attempted robbery but it doesn't say what sort of business. Could he be related to Joseph Robert?

1933 James Storey shopkeeper Dublin St. again no idea what kind of shop
