A Very Long Shot!
« on: Tuesday 09 August 05 15:23 BST (UK) »
Hugh LEY married Mary LANYON in  Gwinear Cornwall on 13.4.1714. He was the Rector of St Euny’s Redruth from 1711 to 1734 when he died. I know it is an awfully long shot but is there anyone who could tell me who his parents were and if he had any siblings. I think he was born in Fowey in 1688.
Many thanks,
Valan

Thank you Brian,
Sounds very promising indeed. Shall look into Andrew Ley and Elizabeth ? now.
A very happy 2007 - hope it's a good year researching.

Hi Valan, I don't know if you are still looking for info re the Leys of Mylor, I have been researching the Leys for many years and can help you should you need any info, the Andrew Ley in your post is in my direct line, his 2nd wife was Elizabeth Greenaway, married 1684 at Illogan, his first wife was Joanne Gibbs who he married 1680 at St Colan, she died 1683 at Mylor, Andrew's father was Hugh Ley and his Grandfather was another Andrew Ley, both Andrew's father and Grandfather died the same month and year, June 1670 at Mylor.
Hugh.
