I am looking for my Grandfather. My Dad found out in 1990 that he was apoted. My Father was born on the 13th April 1945 in Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He's real Father was a Scotish Soldier in the Royal Air Force's 42 Air School based in Port Elizabeth during the second World War. He called himself Jock Walker. I think that he got married in Scotland in 1939. I think he was born around 1917.
He told his South African Girlfriend, that he would come back after the War, but he never returned to her. She was forced to give up her son (my Dad) for adoption. I traced the real mother and my Dad had a reunion with his Mum in South Africa. Sadly my Dad passed away 4 years ago, he never magaged to trace his Father's Roots. I would love to find out his Scottish Roots.
Who can help me find :
"Jock" Walker, born around 1917, married 1939, joined the RAF and served at the 42 Air School in Port Elizabeth South Africa during WW 2.
Is there anyway to get more information on my Grandfather? I live in Switzerland, so the only way is to search online. Been searching now for a long time, but can't find anything. I know that without the Christian name it is very difficult....
My Dad received a letter with some information about his Dad.....but sadly I tried to contact to author of the letter, but I think he passed away.....
