There is a puzzle here to be solved.

A John Provis of Warminster married Mary Adlam also of Warminster in 1737 in Trowbridge.  They appear to have baptised children in Warminster:
William in 1737, Mary in 1741 and possibly John in 1745

Then there is a couple John & Mary Provis who were baptising children in Bremhill from 1745:
William in 1745, Charity in 1747 - are there any others?

What was the occupation of John who was father of William baptised in Bremhill?

John of Warminster may well have been the one who died in 1787 and was an innholder & victualler.

I've never viewed original records from FamilySearch, only transcripts :(

Thanks! There's no mention of William of Bremhill so presumably the two aren't connected.

No there is so mention of Bremhill in the Will, just the bequest  of £30 to my son William Proviss. Also, having just reread the Will, there was another son John.

Can you find any records for the pair prior to the marriage?
