I’ve been living abroad for a few years and trying to trace my dad’s family as I am moving back soon to Edinburgh. My Dad was Thomas Cowan of Lochgelly, Fife. Mum was May Oswald. They last lived in Edinburgh now both deceased. He had 6 brothers and sisters. One was Ruby.

Welcome to Rootschat. This isn't a forum for tracing living people and you haven't given any indication of when your parents were born but the latest available Scottish census is 1911- it and vital records (births, marriages and deaths) will be on Scotland's People website (pay-per-view).
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
