I have to go down there.
« on: Thursday 02 August 18 18:09 BST (UK) »
I am stuck  :(  well and truly - with
MY Cornwall crew ---

OK details :

Phillipa Hellyar is my lovely great gran - married to Fred Raven Patrick.  LOVELY have all that.. so am now tracing right back with the Hellyars and various branches.

They are complicated so I have  left it for a while.

This last week I attempted to sort:

John Hellyar   1629 Lanrivey Cornwall

now he is supposed to be married to a Hester Laverton

but countless searches on as many different web sites as poss and nothing.

would be lovely if anyone knew anything or could find anything.. I pulled up the Cornwall OPC and it is brilliant.. but I must have a detail wrong on this.

Many years ago now, My Bff and I were working this crew together... that is How I got up to John 1629  --- hadnt attempted beyond or his wife  till now.. Because my beautiful best friend, had a stroke... WE were 'only' virtual friends... but that doesnt matter these days.   anyway we have now lost touch.  so sad.. I darent write to her OH again.  bless him
xin

Hi Xin,

What is your evidence for either John (1629) or Thomas (1671)? I've tried the OPC for both christenings and marriages for both and have come up with absolutely nothing. Same goes for Hester Laverton.

Regards,

Keith

I also have John's baptism and parents now, from FamilySearch. No idea why I could find nothing on the OPC.

Interesting that Thomas's 29 Aug 1671 baptism gives his mother's name as Hester, which would tend to support the Laverton marriage.

I have found one family tree which names her as Hester Leverton, born 1630, Cornwall, married John Hellyer, 1670. The tree contains no supporting evidence and is not specific as to locations.

I can find no record of Laverton or Leverton on FS.
