Thomas Langham marriage, 1841
« on: Sunday 05 August 18 22:46 BST (UK) »
Hello folks

Thomas Langham married in Leicester in 1841; if my detective work is right, he married Sarah Hudson, and Sarah was probably living in St Margarets at the time of the marriage. so St Mgt is probably the likeliest church -- if indeed it was a church wedding!

sorry, terribly vague, I know.

Anyway, can anyone find any more details of Thomas's wedding - obviously to confirm firstly if he did indeed marry Sarah Hudson, then any details of Sarah, any witnesses etc? I can see that there was something in the Leic Mercury on 1 Jan 1842, but my sub to FindMyPast doesn't cover this :(

Muchas gracias :)

That’s great, thank you! From the address, this is very likely to be the “right” Sarah. Does anyone have access to the pr’s to get her fathers name and marriage witnesses? Or could anyone have a look when they go to the records office please?

25 December 1841 was a busy day for weddings at St Margaret's (12 in all), but it isn't where Thomas and Sarah married. The marriage locator website (which is a work in progress and not complete):
http://www.marriage-locator.co.uk/
can't find a location for this marriage at present.

Marriage was at Bishops Street Chapel. Probably non conformist, so wont be any PRs to look at.

According to the newspaper reported above, they were married in Bishop Street Chapel.

Sarah probably died only 6 months after her marriage.

just need father occ. and witness names now! I’m sincerely hoping that Sarah was the sister of my ancestor, and might give me a leg up over this particular brick wall!
