Thomas Fry born abt 1835

Need help for an American Friend who is trying to trace her Great Great Granddad.
All she knows about him is his Name = Thomas Fry arrives in New York on 7 March 1853 aged 18 from Liverpool on the Ship "De Witt Clinton "
He marries A Catherine Middlesworth from Beaverton in  Pennsylvania on 6/10/1857
On a late Birth registration of his Son Wiley in 1875 he states he is from Gloucester, England. That's all she knows of his UK link.
She thinks he was born 4 Sept 1835
He died 8 October 1880 in Harrison, Iowa.
Any help or suggestions about finding the Fry Family in Gloucester in 1835 would be a great help.
He did call one of his Sons Moses which could be a grandfather family name.

The late birth registration was signed by the son Wiley so the Gloucester information may not be accurate.

Now a Tree has Thomas/Edwin going to Canada.

But no sure about that as in  1881 Canada Census on Familysearch.Org has a Thomas Fry born c 1835 England, Occp Gardener*

Being born c 1835 there will be no Birth Cert available for Thomas so a Baptism is the closest we can find.

pargeter in British. or pargetter (ˈpɑːdʒɪtə) archaic. a plasterer***.
So explains occp 1841 for Walter which when I look at it now is Pargeter
