Don't see him on Census but you probably have more information so maybe you can spot townland or family

But I don't know his father. He is not really closely related but I knew his son William. He was a father in law of my cousin.(A classic case of going off at a tangent).

There is a William Mahady, Gunner died April 1918
Soldier’s effects record shows brother, Matthew and sister, Mrs Elizabeth Prendergast.

1901 Bothwell, Lanarkshire
Matthew Mahady 29 yrs is a Boarder
