Abraham Shute, c 1792 II
« on: Tuesday 07 August 18 14:37 BST (UK) »
Abraham appears to have been married twice.

To an Elizabeth (died 1840) probably about 1836/7.

To an Ann before 1830.

Any details of either marriage much appreciated.

Tried all three.

First two do not seem to have the info I'm looking for.  :(

I'm getting a 500 Error on the Somerset OPC site.  :-\

Is Abraham the 57 year old widower,ag lab,born Chard,living in Pitminster,in 1851 census?
If so,he and Ann baptised children in Pitminster from 1833.

In 1841 Abraham, aged 44  ???, is with his father George Shute.

Found most of the baptismal records, but, as usual,  they only give the two wives first names.

Have spent some time scratching around because a man with uncommon names should be easy to find.Have used Archersoftware,Parloc, familysearch again,Somerset OPC don't have a clerk for Chard, then to Ancestry to see if there is anything on George Shute.
A public tree on Ancestry has the following ,with sources,George was born in Pitminster in 1765 and baptised as son of John and Betty,he married Sarah Blackmore on 4 Aug 1800 in Chard.Back to familysearch,Abraham Blackmore, base born son of Sarah was baptised on 15 Nov 1795 in Pitminster.

Those last two replies solve several issues.

Many thanks for your time and effort, warncoort!
